"In my experience, the best professional with whom to work is one whose motivation goes beyond a paycheck and is driven more by the love and passion they bring to what they do. This is most certainly the case with Andy who helped my wife and me purchase a retirement home in Cocoa, all within the space of two months, from the first encounter to the closing. Andy is very knowledgeable about the business of real estate as well as the market he serves and this inspired confidence in us within minutes of meeting him. He answered questions clearly and completely, and never told us what to do, but shared his professional opinions when asked. We were impressed with his honesty and sense of ethical responsibility to his clients. Whenever there might be an appearance of a conflict of interest, such as responding to queries regarding brokers or other professionals whose services might need, he was always careful to state his relationship to them (if part of the same company) or indicate that he does not get a commission for the referral if from another company. When we identified a house on which we felt we could make an offer, he promptly made a YouTube video and sent it to us. We have never had a realtor do this for us.

We have worked with many realtors over the years, both in terms of buying and selling houses. Sometimes, responsiveness can be an issue. Yet this was never a problem with Andy. Invariably, he responded within 24 hours of an inquiry. Not surprising, he works very long days and many weekends, and while this is not a practice that we advocate, it has consistently conveyed that Andy made serving his clients a priority. He has a very good working relationship with his wife, and not withstanding the responsibility of taking care of a 5-month old, she never failed to provide prompt support in researching answers to questions he might pose while on the road showing us properties. Although our working relationship was directly with Andy, we had an opportunity at the end for an extended conversation with Abby (she too is a realtor), and found her to be just as knowledgeable and competent as Andy is, and trusted her judgement just as completely. Near the end of the process, when the appraisal came in lower than the settled contract price, Andy was willing to throw in part of his commission to help facilitate the sale. This was not only incredibly generous, but reflected a willingness to make a sacrifice so that we as clients could ultimately close the deal and have the house we so much wanted. I have heard realtors fret about the falling values of homes as it affects their commission. This never seemed to be a worry. Andy seemed to understand that if we turned out to be happy about the process, that things would fall into place, and this kind of thinking squares perfectly with my outlook. In short, we offered to do this testimonial (Andy never asked) because we feel obligated to tell anyone interested in purchasing a home in Central Florida that Andy and Abby Barclay would be the ideal realtors to have in your corner.
